For the last four years I have concentrated on producing site specific, cool climate clonal Chardonnay and Syrah and I’m sure many of you will note that I have oft said that these are the varietals I intend to focus on, as I believe that they are best suited to the Elgin region. Well it’s time to eat my words…
I make a number of wines under other labels, and last year, when I checked the wine maturing in barrel, I was blown away by the quality of the Pinot Noir; so much so that I decided it just had to be part of my Kershaw Elgin Clonal Selection range.
Made from French clones 667, 115 and 113, my 2015 Kershaw Clonal Selection Pinot Noir offers enchanting floral attributes underscored by purity, focus and freshness framed by fine powder tannins, yet cushioned by a succulent texture and flavours of black cherry, pomegranate, rose petal and raspberry.
Sadly there are only a little over 500 bottles of this beauty which will be ready for release on 1 November 2016. Available direct for R2970 per 6 bottle case (including delivery within South Africa), I am accepting reservations now at firstname.lastname@example.org
Clonehead Club members will receive preference for orders placed by 1 October 2016.
