Back in September, we showcased our new vintages at CapeWine – a three day trade show that offered visitors from 69 countries the opportunity to taste wines from 352 producers. Richard Hemming MW, from the UK, tasted 300 wines during his visit and has just released his scores and notes on JancisRobinson.com
We’re delighted that our 2017 Kershaw Deconstructed Lake District Bokkeveld Shale CY95 was his top-scoring white wine, achieving 18/20 – “truly grand cru level”
Our 2017 Kershaw Deconstructed Groenland Bokkeveld Shale CY548 received 17.5+ “World class”
2017 Kershaw Deconstructed Lake District Cartref CY96 and 2017 Kershaw GPS Series Lower Duivenhoks River Chardonnay scored 17.5 each, the former described as “Creamy, perfectly poised precision” with the latter being “So luscious!”
Our Syrahs also received high praise with our 2016 Kershaw Clonal Selection Elgin Syrah, 2016 Kershaw Deconstructed Groenland Bokkeveld Shale SH9c and 2016 Kershaw Deconstructed Lake District Cartref SH22 all scoring 17.5. Our Clonal Selection Syrah was described as having “the same savoury appeal yet soft structure as great Crozes-Hermitage”.
