We’re proud to announce that Richard has been named as a finalist in the Diners Club SA Winemaker of the Year 2019, for not just one wine but two! The category this year is Pinot Noir and our 2018 Kershaw Clonal Selection Elgin Pinot Noir and 2018 Kershaw GPS Series Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge Pinot Noir have been selected.
We wish Richard and the other finalists the best of luck for the 23 November when the winner will be announced at a black tie gala dinner.
We were delighted to receive two 5 stars at the 2020 Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide, announced on Friday in Cape Town for our 2018 Kershaw Clonal Selection Elgin Chardonnay and 2018 GPS Series Lower Duivenhoks River Chardonnay.

Our Chardonnays have also been recognised in the Winemag Prescient Chardonnay Report 2019 with our 2018 Kershaw Clonal Selection Elgin Chardonnay placing in the top 10 with a score of 93 points.
Our 2017 Kershaw Deconstructed Lake District Cartref SH22 scored 95 points and was one of Tim Atkin MW’s Red Wines of The Year in his South Africa 2019 Special Report released earlier this year. Just over 500 bottles and a handful of magnums of this wine have been produced, with Tim commenting, “.. the best Syrah I’ve had yet from the eccentric English Master of Wine. Easily handling its 50% new wood, it has the grip and density of the SH22 clone, savoury, spicy complexity, some violet top notes, fine tannins and refreshing, balancing acidity”.
